First exhibitions of the Parallel Platform announced

By 23/02/2018February 24th, 2019News, Parallel Platform

Following our previous EU co-operation project Flaneur – New Urban Narratives in 2016, PhotoIreland Foundation (participating as PhotoIreland Festival) has been invited for the second time by Procur.arte to join their next ambitious project: PARALLEL – European Photo Based Platform, alongside 17 other European Photography partners. PhotoIreland Foundation has invited emerging artist Mark McGuinness to join the year-long project.

After the launch of the platform in Lisbon last November 2017, the next step for Mark was to join the Curatorship process, taking place in Kaunas, and attended by all the emerging artists and emerging curators. During this stage, the artists presented their new project to the exhibiting members and curators, working with them in planning the exhibitions to be programmed throughout 2018 across Europe. In addition to these shows, the culmination and fruit of all this work will be presented at the next Intersection, during Organ Vida International Photography Festival, in Zagreb, in September 2018.

We share our congratulations to Mark, who will exhibit his new project in QUAD, Derby, from 20th April, alongside Andrej Lamut, Sofia Okkonen, Charlotte Mano, Glorija Lizde, Ramona Guntert, and Toms Harjo, curated by Nikki Omes. We are also happy to announce that PhotoIreland Foundation will be an exhibiting member in 2018.
