PhotoIreland has invited Eamonn Doyle, Siân Addicott, and Vivienne Gamble to contribute to the selection process of the 9th FUTURES Talent Call for artists. The opportunity is open to include UK practitioners and the deadline is 6pm Sunday 21st December 2025.
Eamonn Doyle, born in Dublin, studied painting and photography at college. He spent much of the next two decades producing and publishing music, during which he also founded the Dublin Electronic Arts Festival alongside the record labels D1 Recordings and Dead Elvis. He returned to photography in 2008. His debut photo-book i was described by Martin Parr as ‘the best street photo-book in a decade’. This was followed by ON and the award-winning End, which together with i, became known as his Dublin trilogy, culminating in a ground-breaking immersive exhibition at Rencontres d’Arles. Eamonn’s most recent bodies of work have taken him to the wild Atlantic coast of Ireland and to the volcanic landscapes of Extremadura in Spain, and back to his suburban home in south Dublin. He is represented by the Michael Hoppen Gallery, London
Siân Addicott is an arts professional and educator with extensive experience in the cultural sector and wider creative industries. She is currently Director of Ffotogallery in Cardiff, Wales and has a background in higher education, photographic practice, and visual culture. Her work focuses on supporting emerging and underrepresented artists, with a particular interest in feminist practice and strengthening the visibility of marginalised voices in the arts.
Vivienne Gamble is the Director of Stills Centre for Photography in Edinburgh. She took up the post in January 2025 and is currently shaping the programme that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Stills in 2027. She is also Co-Founder and Co-Director of Peckham 24 festival. Peckham 24 began as a 24 hour pop-up exhibition during the second edition of Photo London in 2016, and has since grown into a major event renowned for supporting new talent and experimental approaches in contemporary photography. From 2015 to 2023 she ran her own gallery space, Seen Fifteen, also in Peckham. She holds an MA in the History and Theory of Photography from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London.
The jury is tasked with identifying contemporary, lens-based artists, regardless of curriculum or experience, who have demonstrated dedication and serious intention in their practice. We strongly recommend for each applicant to review the practice of the previous Irish artists participating in the platform to understand this call better, as much as to find out more about the FUTURES Photography Platform.
