TLP Editions 2026

Comprising already 94 publications, with 3 more expected shortly, the TLP Editions series provides a growing collection of accessible, inexpensive publications featuring a wide variety of contemporary photographic practices. Running since 2017, PhotoIreland continues the publishing project in 2026 with a new call for proposals.

THE CALL

We are calling all photographers and artists from or practising in Ireland to present a brief and coherent project for inclusion in the TLP Editions publication series. The series intends to highlight the variety of existing practices and interests, and there is no theme to adhere to. Proposals may include old work, archival, as well as recent or new in-development work. Artists may submit more than one project and submission is free.

THE AGREEMENT

Selected artists will contribute their images to the project, granting permission for their reproduction and for use in related promotional (such as flyers) and commercial material (such as postcards). PhotoIreland will cover all production, printing, and distribution costs, including design. Participating artists will receive copies to keep, sell, distribute, or give away.  Any sales revenue generated goes exclusively into producing more editions.

PUBLICATION SPECIFICATIONS

Each publication is limited to 200 copies, with a standard A5 size, and the following format:

Classic
– 36-page stapled publication
– Printed on 100gsm uncoated paper, including the cover
– The cover offers the synopsis of the project, with a maximum length of 140 words
– The back cover displays the title and the artist’s name
– Publications sell for €6
– Artists receive 20 copies

In addition and exceptionally, PhotoIreland may propose some artists to consider an extended format if and when their project so requires:

Extended
– Perfect-bound publication for projects that need more room
– From 60 to 400 pages
– A different design for each book, adapting to the project size
– The publication’s price starts at €15
– Artists receive 20 copies

SCHEDULE

  • Deadline: Midnight Sunday 22 March 2026
  • Confirmation of receipt: within 48 hours
  • Communication of results: by Friday 3 April 2026
  • Selected artists announced at Tsundoku Art Book Fair, on 17–19 April at the International Centre for the Image.

Please note that deadlines are strict and will not be extended.

PROCESS

If your work is selected, we will reach out to request that you sign a standard agreement; the document lists all the details of the call, proposing an estimated production date. Once signed and returned, we will request high-resolution files and start the design process. Before the production date, you will meet the designer, and a first draft design will be proposed. We will make any necessary changes and get the files approved for printing. Production will take place throughout 2026, and potentially into 2027, depending on scheduling and availability.

SUBMIT YOUR WORK

To apply, please email your submission with “TLP Editions Proposal” in the subject line to [email protected].

Please submit one single low-resolution PDF file per project, including:

  • A brief project description
  • A short bio
  • An artist statement
  • A selection of images (no maximum)

If you have any questions about this project, please contact [email protected]
