Find out more about the five new artists joining the international Futures Photography Platform to represent Ireland in 2021!
Co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, Futures is a platform focused on amplifying emerging talents in photography in Europe. Since its inception, PhotoIreland has been the platform’s Irish member and has now put forward 20 Irish artists so far to be included in the platform.

For this year’s call for TLP Editions 2021, we focused on Irish and Ireland-based entries. We were very pleased to receive such a large and varied number of proposals, and to discover some new practices. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to send their proposals! The call for proposals for the PhotoIreland Festival 2021 Open Programme is now open and free this year.
If you are planning an event during, or running into, July related to Photography or Visual Culture happening anywhere in Ireland, then join the festival celebrations! We welcome submissions from individuals and organisations of all possible formats for events such as exhibitions, installations, performances, screenings, talks, workshops, etc., whether in real life or virtual.

Last month, we held our first Bright Room Session via Zoom, hosted by David Flood, with four artists presenting their work in a friendly peer group. It was a highly positive experience and we're confident the beginning of a great, supportive environment.
Bookings are still open for the Bright Room March Session with selected artists presenting their work-in-progress. Those wishing to attend the March session can do so by registering on Eventbrite. Places are free and a link will be sent to your email shortly before the start of the event. Artists presenting their work will be announced shortly before each session.
