Artists of all levels based on the island of Ireland and Irish artist abroad are welcome to participate in the Critical Practice Reviews organised by PhotoIreland in Dublin on the 18th October as part of the FUTURES Meet-Up programme.

PhotoIreland and the FUTURES Photography Platform launches the exhibition ENERGY: Redistributing Power and Taming Consumption, accompanied by a three-day programme of events kindly supported by Creative Europe and the Arts Council of Ireland. Within the FUTURES Meet-Up programme, PhotoIreland offers the Critical Practice Reviews.

What are the Critical Practice Reviews?

In 2017, PhotoIreland developed Critical Practice Reviews (CPR) in answer to the standard portfolio review model. A CPR session takes the model of a group critique in which professionals and artists share a table to listen, discuss and advise on the practice and development of the artists’ practices. The sessions provide less pressure through a more conversational format, and an equal value on peer feedback. The participating professionals, comprising local and international guests from a diversity of practices and organisations, will be announced soon.
Hosting the FUTURES Photography Platform Meet Up in Dublin on October 18th, PhotoIreland opens an opportunity to artists of all levels and backgrounds to meet with a number of invited art professionals at the Critical Practice Reviews. Participation is free, no expenses are covered, and lunch on the day is provided.
The available places are limited to 20 artists. The selected artists must be available to attend the reviews in person on Friday 18th October in Dublin.
