tsundoku.ie

Started: First held July 2011 during PhotoIreland Festival, re-launched 13 July 2023.
What:
Ireland’s Art Book Fair
When: Every year, in July.
Where:
In Dublin.
Why: To support publishing as much as developing a readership around Art practices.

In 2011, PhotoIreland launched Ireland’s first book fair, presented as the ‘Book and Magazine Fair’, showcasing Irish and International publishers. The fair was celebrated every year during the PhotoIreland Festival with some exceptions. In 2023, PhotoIreland announced the rebrand and return of its book fair, presented now as the ‘Tsundoku Art Book Fair’.

With over 150 publishers and individual artists represented in 2023, Tsundoku Art Book Fair ran from 13-16th July 2023 during PhotoIreland FestivalTsundoku featured a broad range of books from active publishers, artists and collectives, small presses, and institutions from Ireland and abroad. Tsundoku offered visitors four days of events with book launches, talks, book signings and workshops for individuals and families.

This fair was made possible in 2023 thanks to the kind support of OPW and its staff, especially those at Dublin Castle and The Printworks, The Arts Council of Ireland, Dublin City Arts Office, RTÉ, and Fotobookfestival.
