FUTURES Irish Artists nominated by PhotoIreland, heading to Turin, Copenhagen, and Poland. Two FUTURES Irish Artists, Cian Burke (2022) and Mark Duffy (2021) have been selected to show their work in an exhibition entitled ON THE VERGE this Winter in Turin, Italy. The exhibition will travel thereafter to Copenhagen Photo Festival, Denmark, and Fotofestiwal Lodz, Poland.
In addition, this year’s Irish artists (Cian Burke, Ronan McCall, Emma O’Brien, Patrick O’Byrne and Pauline Rowan) will travel to Turin to avail of the professional development programme as part of the FUTURES Photography Platform Annual Event. CAMERA, Turin, is host to an intense programme of activities involving not only 100 young photographers and artists and 20 curators from all over Europe, but also other international guests

PhotoIreland is joining the Centre Culturel Irlandais' programme of events during Paris Photo to present the new issue of OVER Journal in Paris on Thursday 10th November. Visitors will find a stand dedicated to the new issue of Hot Potato, a journal where photographers and scholars interpret global issues, and another one for OVER Journal, presenting previous issues and a selection of Irish publications. Visitors will be able to meet the editors and some of the contributors, get their hands on previous issues and pre-order Issue 2 at a special price.
The third issue of OVER Journal brings together texts by Anna-Kaisa Rastenberger, Awuor Onyango, Brendan McCleary, Kateryna Radchenko, Lauren McLaughlin, Matt Johnson, Mohamad Abdouni, Rica Cerbarano, Róisín Tapponi, Sara Muthi, and more.
It includes featured works from Arab Image Foundation, Aleksandra Szajnecka, Alinka Echeverria, Alnis Stakle, Daragh Soden, Elena Subach, Emma O’Brien, Farah Al Qasimi, Gabriel Andreu, Hilla Kurki, amongst others. The cover image is by Daragh Soden, from Ladies & Gentlemen.

PhotoIreland presents the following publications at this year’s Photobook Week Aarhus at the Open Book Market This is the ninth edition of Photobook Week Aarhus (PWA). Since 2014, Galleri Image and the Aarhus School of Architecture have collaborated on organising PWA, an annual festival focused on the rapidly growing international interest in photobooks in recent years.
Visitors will be able to enjoy and purchase these and many other publishers' offerings over the PWA weekend.

Channel, a Dublin-based literary journal publishing poetry and prose that fosters human connection with the natural world, is due to celebrate its seventh issue with an in-person launch on 28 October and an online launch on 3 November.
The issue’s in-person launch at The Library Project will feature readings by Issue 7 contributors alongside a musical performance by Alain Servant, and refreshments will be served. Also featured will be a series of readings by contributors to Channel’s back issues, who will perform their own work alongside selected pieces from Issue 7, celebrating the through-lines and collective conversations that have built up across Channel’s first three years of publishing. The launch takes place the night before the opening of HALFTONE print fair, an annual exhibit of artworks and printed materials from creatives around Ireland hosted by The Library Project, and a preview of the work for sale at the fair will be on display across the walls.
