PhotoIreland opens a call for Irish and Ireland-based artists to join the new artist-driven mentorship programme RELAY, running over a period of three months, presenting the output during PhotoIreland Festival this summer. RELAY is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, Dublin City Council, and The Digital Hub. The RELAY mentorship programme for the 14th edition of PhotoIreland Festival is open specifically for artists of the African diaspora living in Ireland. The facilitator selected for the 2023 mentorship programme is artist Alice Rekab. Deadline 6pm 5th March

PhotoIreland announces the 5 Irish artists selected to join the FUTURES Photography Platform in 2023. They are: Aindreas Scholz, Emilia Rigaud, Niamh Barry, Phelim Hoey, and Ryan Allen.
In joining the platform, now in its 6th year, they not only enter a growing list of talent from across Europe, but also benefit from a growing range of opportunities supported by Creative Europe and the 18 platform members planned throughout the present year, culminating in an annual networking event at the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Centre.

Running 3-26 February At The Library Project
This Hurts is the first exhibition of the New Irish Works series, presenting contemporary photographic practices at The Library Project throughout 2023-24, with the support of Inspirational Arts and the Arts Council of Ireland.
Audrey Blue’s themes explore queerness, mortality and conflict with youth and anxiety through her series.
New Irish Works is a triennial project run by PhotoIreland since 2013 to represent and promote the growing diversity of contemporary photographic practices in Ireland. In addition to Audrey Blue, the artists selected for New Irish Works include Bryony Dunne, Pauline Rowan, Jialin Long, Róisín White, Martin Cregg, Martin Seeds, Cian Burke, Mark Duffy, and Shia Conlon.

PhotoIreland grows the reputation of Irish artists globally through a 360 degree support system and platform for contemporary photography, activated through a diversity of projects. These include events such as PhotoIreland Festival and Halftone print fair amongst others; resources such as the PhotoIreland Collection, a specialised research library of photobooks, and Ireland’s Art Bookshop, The Library Project; via publishing with projects such as OVER Journal and TLP Editions; professional development support through networking and consultancy opportunities; and empowering early and mid-career photographers via our international partnerships, most relevantly through Creative Europe co-funded platforms such as FUTURES and Parallel.
