Talk 4pm Sat 14 March Launch 5pm Sat 14 March At The Library Project Free and everyone welcome
We welcome back Luis Alberto Rodriguez to launch his latest photobook People of the Mud, produced and published by Lewis Chaplin and Sarah Piegay Espenon of Loose Joints. The book includes texts by Tim Walker and Photo Historian Dr. Orla Fitzpatrick.
People of the Mud is a powerful new series by the Berlin-based US artist, made collaboratively amongst the communities of County Wexford in Ireland, where ancient tradition and modern life rub shoulders daily. This work was first realised in 2018, as part of a residency at Cow House Studios initiated and co-funded by PhotoIreland and Futures Photography through Creative Europe. The resulting work was exhibited a year later, May-August 2019, at The Library Project as part of PhotoIreland Festival.

Running 12-29 March At The Library Project
Presented as part of St. Patrick's Festival, The Library Project brings together100 Views of Contemporary Ireland, a collection of photographs by 100 contemporary photographers from Ireland. Visitors will discover a different Ireland through the incisive, playful and poignant work of these artists. The list includes artists such as Anthony Haughey, Aisling McCoy, Brian Teeling, Ciarán Óg Arnold, Eamonn Doyle, David Farrell, Kate Nolan, Megan Doherty, Ruth Connolly, Shane Lynam, and Trish Morrissey amongst many others. The project also celebrates a discipline that has undergone its own radical transformation in the last few years, highlighting the growing number of artists providing us with excellent work, and underlining the role of PhotoIreland in contributing to a healthy ecosystem in Photography.
The images have been kindly donated by the artists in support of The Library Project space and will be available to purchase as postcards at the venue.
