The 11th edition of PhotoIreland Festival, entitled ON/OFF, combines a programme of online and offline activities and exhibitions, free for all audiences.
The festival team has remained optimistic and creative throughout the last months, adapting to the continuously changing circumstances and focusing on the opportunities presented by the rapid shift to online experiences – a sort of global digital exodus.
This year’s programme highlights the work of two organisations that have collaborated to deliver an effective and refreshing series of online streams, Fotomuseum Winterthur and The Photographer's Gallery. In addition, we present content from the festival within the pages of OVER journal, a new publication by PhotoIreland.

Launch 6pm Sat 18 July
We are so close to the finish line of the first issue of the anticipated OVER Journal! The cover artist for the first issue is Irish-based photographer Vera Ryklova, with an image from her work Aesthetic Distance.
All our Indiegogo supporters will be receiving their perks next month. If you missed out on the campaign, the issue is currently available to pre-order online and will be available from The Library Project from the day of launch. Visitors can also support the journal by getting their hands on the OVER Tote Bag, made from strong, recycled materials and a 6cm. gusset—it's perfect for carrying your favourite publications!
About OVER OVER Journal proposes its readers a more wholesome, honest, and critical observation and enjoyment of lens-based, contemporary practices, with visual culture and critical thinking at its core. Contributing to this dialogue, we present some of PhotoIreland Festival elements within the pages of OVER. In addition, contributors to the first issue of the journal investigate the role of criticism, museology and more, provoking conversations around topics regarding contemporary practices and how these are influenced by our current environments and society.

Last 30 April, District magazine announced the launch of A New Normal, an open call in collaboration with PhotoIreland and Junior Press. The open call was created in response to an unprecedented event in any of our life-times. Photographers from all over the globe submitted their perspectives from, and work created within, these new circumstances, finding moments of creativity and joy.
These images can currently be viewed at the District online gallery paired with a piece of poetry by Malaki, whose recital can also be heard while you browse the work. The release of the print edition of A New Normal will be launched as a TLP Edition, in collaboration with PhotoIreland and The Library Project.
