PhotoIreland Festival 2022 is off to an incredible start with the launch of the main exhibition Images Are All We Have, featuring over 300 artworks by 200 artists - an incredible comprehensive survey of Irish photographic art practices, with many new, as well as established, voices. The show is presented at The Printworks, Dublin Castle, where PhotoIreland first launched its public-facing research project, the Museum of Contemporary Photography of Ireland, back in 2019. It is free and NOT TO BE MISSED!

Running 9 Jul-6 Aug At Rathfarnham Castle, Rathfarnham, D14 K3T6
Daragh Soden’s Ladies & Gentlemen brings to public view for the first time a new body of work by the Dublin born artist; it is a subversive series of large format portraits that raises questions around gender roles, photographer-subject relationships and the performativity of identity.
The work both documents and questions queer individuals’ performance of their own unique identities. Similarly, Soden sets out to question himself. As a queer person, he can relate to the subjects, however, there always remains a ‘distance’ between subject and photographer.
