PhotoIreland Festival 2022 is off to an incredible start with the launch of the main exhibition Images Are All We Have, featuring over 300 artworks by 200 artists - an incredible comprehensive survey of Irish photographic art practices, with many new, as well as established, voices. The show is presented at The Printworks, Dublin Castle, where PhotoIreland first launched its public-facing research project, the Museum of Contemporary Photography of Ireland, back in 2019. It is free and NOT TO BE MISSED!

Photobook Launch: Next Exit, Liam Murphy

Ireland’s roadsides are home to a shifting population of mad, bad, unauthorised advertisements. Liam's new book Next Exit, designed by Richard Seabrooke, goes on the trail of these highwaymen: the signs that appear along motorways and countryside detours, alerting drivers to the possibility of reptiles, salvation or alternative sustenance ahead.

Photo Walks

PhotoIreland Festival 2022 is hosting a Professional Weekend programmed in support of artists and with the participation of a number of national and international guests. One of the public elements of the programme is the Photo Walks.

The Photo Walks provide an open and accessible way for artists to show their work not only to visiting professionals and peers, but also to the the public, allowing for direct engagement. This is a unique opportunity for audience members to not only view works but to directly meet and engage with the artists.

Participating artists are invited to present their portfolios, whether in printed or digital format, and hold conversations with interested audiences. Everyone is welcome.

There is no need to book for any of these events, just join in on time and enjoy discovering new practices.
