Under the title Opening The Gates, the 13th edition of PhotoIreland Festival presents the most comprehensive overview on the History and Practice of Photography in Ireland to date, running 7th July to 28th August 2022 in various locations, with the main venue at The Printworks, Dublin Castle. PhotoIreland Festival 2022: Submit your proposals before May 20th deadline!

In the context of the History and Practice of Photography in Ireland, a series of Think Tanks are being programmed, including:

On Histories I and II
- Photography, Partition and After: Photographies and Histories of Ireland in the short 20th Century.
- On the History and Practice of Contemporary Photography in Ireland 1990-2022

On Empathy
- Photography: An Empathetic Gesture?

Proposals of 300 words with a short bio and up to 10 images should be submitted via email attachment with to photoireland.call.2022@gmail.com no later than May 20th 2022

PhotoIreland Festival 2022: Call for Open Programme

The call for proposals for the PhotoIreland Festival 2022 Open Programme is now open. Participation is free!

If you are planning an event during, or running into, July and/or August 2022 related to Photography or Visual Culture happening anywhere in Ireland, then join the festival celebrations! We welcome submissions from individuals and organisations of all possible formats for events such as exhibitions, installations, performances, screenings, talks, workshops, etc., whether in real life or virtual. Deadline to submit: 5th June

Call for Volunteers:
PhotoIreland Festival 2022

PhotoIreland Festival will run this year from July to end of August and we are now looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to join the festival team. If you have an interest in contemporary Arts, curation, festivals and event management, and want to learn from behind the scenes of an exciting arts organisation, we want to hear from you!

What you get:

• A learning experience into the running of an international Photography festival.
• Networking opportunities during events and free access to all events.

• A one-hour consultancy post-festival session: this could take the form of a portfolio review or an advice session from us, depending on your current practice and objectives.
