Justin Carville teaches Historical & Theoretical Studies in Photography and is Chair of the Photography Programme at Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Dun Laoghaire. He is a former Government of Ireland Senior Research Scholar in the Humanities and Social Sciences, (2003-2004) and an IRCHSS Government of Ireland Research Fellow (2008-2009). His published research on Irish photography has appeared in the journals Afterimage , Early Popular Visual Culture, Source, Circa, Next Level, Photography in Culture, Photographies and the Irish Journal of Anthropology as well as a numerous edited books and exhibition catalogues. He has guest edited a special Ireland-themed issue of the journal Early Popular Visual Culture and a special issue of the journal Photographies on globalization and the photographic image and is on the editorial advisory board of the journals Visual Culture in Britain and Photographies. His books include Photography and Ireland (Reaktion, 2011) and the edited volume Visualizing Dublin: Visual Culture, Modernity and the Representation of Urban Space (Peter Lang, 2014). He is currently researching the connections between photography, ethnography and the visualization of Irish identity for a book to be titled The Ungovernable Eye: Photography, Race and Ireland.
Martina Cleary is a Dublin born Photographer, currently working between Ireland and the UK. In Ireland she studied at NCAD and The Crawford College of Art & Design, followed by studies at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts and the Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki. Along with her work as an artist, in recent years Martina has also worked as a lecturer in Photography, a Freelance Consultant and Curator for a number of institutes and organizations including, The EU Urban Development Project and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Burren College of Art, LSAD and GMIT in Ireland, as well as Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. She has shown her work nationally and internationally since the mid 1990’s, with support from the Arts Councils of Ireland and Finland, The Finnish Cultural Foundation, The Finnish Institute in London, and a number of other regional bodies in both Ireland and abroad. Recently her work has been selected for Format 2015 Exposure, Describing Architecture/Memory and Place Dublin, solo exhibition at the RHA Ashford and EV+A International. She is currently also an Associate at the European Centre for Photographic Research (eCPR) Newport, where she is undertaking practice-based Doctoral research.
David Kronn is the Chief of Medical Genetics at Westchester Medical Center and Associate Professor of Pathology and Pediatrics at New York Medical College, both in Valhalla, New York; He was born in Dublin and qualified as a physician from Trinity College Dublin. He moved to New York to pursue training in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics at New York University Medical Center. His interest in photography has been lifelong, initially as a keen amateur photographer which he continues, to his interest in collecting which started shortly after arriving in New York. Photographs from his collection have been shown at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin in 2011 and 2014, at the Glucksman Gallery, Cork in 2011 and at the Butler Gallery, Kilkenny in 2015. His collection is an ongoing donation and promised gift to the Irish Museum of Modern Art.

Ann lectures in Photography and is Programme Chair of the DIT BA Photography. She has a BA in History from Trinity College Dublin and a Masters in Fine Art from Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester, New York. Her research is concerned with what Hal Foster defines as an archival impulse, that which seeks ‘to make historical information, often lost or displaced, physically present.’ She has exhibited in Ireland and the U.S. She was formerly the Assistant Coordinator for the Media Center at Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester New York. She was the Coordinator of the Central New York Programmers Group based at Cornell University and was active in bringing both documentary and experimental film/videomakers to the upstate New York media centre and college circuit.
Michelle Dunn Marsh is executive director of Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW), an educational institution dedicated to the making and sharing of significant photography. She is also the founder of Minor Matters, a new and collaborative model for contemporary art books, and has brought four books to print since launching. She is a part-time lecturer at Parsons/The New School, and has spoken on visual literacy as well as art book publishing at Yale University, University of Washington, YoungArts, Atlanta Celebrates Photography, and SPE, among others. She holds an MS in Publishing from Pace University in New York City, and a bachelor’s degree in literature/art history from Bard College, where she serves on the Board of Governors. Recent projects include curation of Terminal: On Mortality and Beauty; ‘Image and Object,” an essay for American Photo, and the development of Alice Wheeler’s Outcasts and Innocents for Minor Matters.
Catherine has lived and worked many years in Paris as a Photo Editor for a photo agency, and also as a Journalist for several newspapers and the French TV news. Before she came to Ireland in 2006, she undertook TV production training at the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel in order to expand her skills and be able to work in an international environment as a videographer. Since then, she consolidated her interest for images, writing and filming, and has undertaken numerous projects for online newspapers, the horseracing industry, music shows, documentaries and corporate videos. She recently took part in a film project by French photographer and film maker Yann Arthus-Bertrand called “Human”, to be released in 2015. She is also a volunteer journalist for the French NGO Medecins du Monde.
Moritz Neumüller, is a Barcelona-based Curator, Educator and Writer in the field of Photography and New Media. He has worked for institutions such as MoMA New York,PhotoEspaña and La Fábrica in Madrid, and PhotoIreland Festival. He is the Academic Director of the Photo Department of IED Madrid, and a regular contributor to magazines such as European Photography, FOAM and Photoresearcher, published by the European Society for the History of Photography. In 2009, he founded ArteConTacto, a project aimed at facilitating the exploration of art through all senses, in order to provide access for all visitors, including the visually impaired. The project is complemented with Museum For All, a European network of museums open for all visitors. Since 2010, he runs the The Curator Ship, an online resource for visual artists. Recent work include curatorial projects for the Daegu Biennial (Korea), Photobook Week Aarhus (Denmark), and The Birmingham Library (UK). His publications include El otro lado del alma, Edition Oehrli, Zurich (2005); Bernd & Hilla Becher speak with Moritz Neumüller, La Fábrica / Fundación Telefónica, Madrid (2005); All Inclusive. New Spanish Photography, Lodz Photography Festival, Polonia (2007); To Have & To Lose. Three projects by Mireia Sallarès, Galleri Image, Aarhus (2008) and Martin Parr’s Best Books of the Decade, PhotoIreland, Dublin (2011).
Karin O’Conor is Political and Parliamentary Adviser to the Minister for the Gaeltacht and Natural Resources, Joe McHugh TD. She began working in Public Relations a number of years ago, representing a wide-ranging number of clients, including Ryanair, LinkedIn, Matheson and PCH International. She has a keen interest in Corporate Finance and following a Diploma in Investor and Capital Markets, she began working for Bank of Ireland in their Group Comms division, before moving to politics. Born in Stockholm, and raised in Brussels and Dublin, she is very interested in the Visual Arts, and is a proficient piano, violin and oboe player.
Jennie Ricketts is a photography editor, curator, consultant and mentor. She is the former Picture Editor of The Observer Magazine, where she worked for seventeen years. She launched the Jennie Ricketts Gallery nine years ago. Originally based in Brighton, UK, she relocated to County Wicklow in 2007. The gallery represents eighteen international photographers, both online and in hired exhibition spaces. Recent collaborations include “A Conversation with Karen Fuchs”, the US based photographer, for the Arts University Bournemouth, and the exhibition Poppies: Women and War with UK photographer Dr Lee Karen Stow for Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, as part of their Women and War symposium. The exhibition is now touring, and will be displayed at Liverpool Museum from July through to February 2016.
